Dell Boomi Integrations for Australia’s Largest Pharmacy Retailer

Australia’s largest pharmacy retailer, with stores across the country, needed to improve online order delivery to customers’ doorsteps in the most effective and efficient way possible, resulting in significant savings for their customers. Fast Delivery project was implemented for a client in order to facilitate “Online order delivery at doorstep” by utilizing various Boomi APIs to select Delivery partner based on expected delivery time and place delivery order with a faster and streamlined ecosystem.

Executive Summary

Client required a robust integration platform with capabilities of centralized API management, event-based listeners, performance effective, parallel processing, and secure communication to send success or failure response back to end user in record time as part of online order delivery management.

Ray Business Technologies’ subject matter experts collaborated closely with project stakeholders to understand the application’s business requirements. The RBT team architected and designed the application with best practices and usability in mind. It included all software modules and components, internal and external system integrations, and the interactions that resulted in the application.

Challenges

· Customers’ online delivery orders placed through Our Retail Client’s website must be fulfilled with the assistance of various Delivery partners.

· Interaction with various Delivery partners is required through the use of web service APIs exposed to our Client’s group by Delivery partners.

· Based on the business rules that have been set, the solution must identify a specific Delivery partner among the multiple on-boarded partners, introducing multiple integration touch points.

· The need of the hour was for a dependable integration middleware that can handle streamlined, secure, and performance effective data transfer between the mentioned end systems with zero data loss, bulk processing capability, and robust error handling.

Solution

The RBT team used Boomi middleware to successfully implement all critical integrations. Parallel processing was implemented in Boomi using an event-based listener called Web Service Server, which resulted in high throughput while handling massive online order delivery volumes. Boomi has robust error handling implemented to make production support easier. The Boomi solution ensured transaction security and message delivery.
